Interesting.
Good. Trump strives for accuracy.
Well, what did he say—specifically.
If Durbin and Graham lied about this to get back at the President for inviting immigration hard liners to the meeting (Goodlatte and Cotton), they ought to be tarred and feathered. And after this, the President should make it a requirement that ALL meetings with Senators should be recorded.
That’s too bad. I kind of liked it.
I think he is smarter than that. He might have said loser countries or something similar.
IMHO, this is a setup for the release of a video or audio that will prove, once and for all, President Trump did not use the word Sh!thole.
I reckon President Trump is just sitting back and will pick a time that will provide maximum damage to the RATS and the RINOS.
The first step in fixing a problem should be to accurately identify the problem. How do Democrats describe these countries?
I’m OK if he did say chithole. But it doesn’t really seem like something you would say in a professional meeting. Especially with Dems sitting there.
I think Trump probably used the word. I find that regrettable in an official meeting. On a construction site, or in a locker room, that language would be tame.
My guess, though, is that Trump did not use it in the context as it has been described.
Overall, much ado about nothing.
It’s almost too late for a correction. It does not really matter now.
If he didn’t say this, then what exactly DID he say?
Aside from that, the quote and it’s meaning have already been absorbed by the general public. Some are cautiously agreeing with this perspective. ‘Why are WE taking in all these uneducated, unskilled, uncivilized people from poorly managed countries?”
Most of us find it easy to believe that the president would say something like this. So what if it was not verbatim?
The Genie (the FORBIDDEN topic of 3rd countries) has already been let out of the bottle, and is being openly talked about. The president will be alright. The GOP will survive.
The public discourse will benefit from this open discussion that no other modern president wished to bring up.
Jeb! never, ever, EVER would allow himself to think, let alone say this.
“A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.” ~ Joseph Goebbels
I don't expect to agree 100% with politicians I support. There are times I have disagreed with Trump. But what is the alternative? Democrats have said far worse things, and nothing has been done.
Many people, including politicians, probably do think this term applies to certain countries but don't dare to express it.
As this “set” fire rages over the news cycles, I wonder what President Trump is doing behind the noise. :-) Best the opposition watches the OTHER hand, not the obvious one.
A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. — Mark Twain
>> was a “gross misrepresentation.”
Yeah, Trump was prolly referring to Durbin.
Their focus is not on "the" problems they're supposed to be dealing with.
Instead, they focus on some inconsequential comment by the president in a closed meeting.
The proof he said it: Dick Turd Man, a chronic liar and exaggerator. Oh, and did I mention he was a dirty democRAT?
To me, it makes all the crybaby whiners look bad, not Trump.
Boy, were the pearl-clutchers out in full force on the Sunday morning cable TV shows. Pretty much the world is coming to an end because of some derisive term allegedly about made about the "sh*tholes of the world.
Horrors!
Yet, every liberal out there acts on it like it is fact.
and the Dems/MSM are happy to say shithole countries over and over again
