"Must we stand naked before the faceless NSA?"

Actually.....yes.

Back a half century, or more, ago, the only wired microphone in your house was in your telephone. It was wired directly to the telephone company, but could be disconnected by you whenever you placed the handset on the black buttons on the receiver. When the handset was lifted, however, you stood naked before anyone at the telephone office who chose to listen in. Many more than you thought at the time, did. However, the only way honest law officials could listen in, was to physically 'tap' connectors to the wires from your phone. That's why it's called 'wiretapping'.

Now there can be dozens of microphones, and cameras, for that matter, in your home. They're in all your phones, they can be in your TVs, your tablets, your PCs, even in your thermostats, toasters, and bathtubs. Many are continuously hooked up to power, and transmit wirelessly to numerous locations.

In order to 'wiretap' criminals and spies, the government can't just get only some of these inputs because they don't know in advance what to get. So it gets ALL of them. That's right, the US government records EVERYTHING that's on the data backbone. You do, indeed, stand naked before the NSA. You rely on the honesty of the federal government to look only under the towels of those for which it has a court approved 'search warrant'. The real issue here is that Obama and his minions did not deserve that trust. They looked under the towels of any one they wished.

Good analysis and commentary.

Snowden exposed all of this and hopefully we will see the real truth come out which lead to Trumps comments re Obama spying on him
