I lived in DC, worked a lot of time in NYC and lived in Houston....I used to say that the WaPo, NYSlimes and Houston Chronicle were the biggest lib rags out there.....it breaks my heart to now say that al.com is right up there with them. I don’t know anyone who subscribes anymore.....like my brother says “don’t they know who their customer base is?” Apparently NO!!!!!
I knew the late great editor Randy Henderson. He called me up one day, not long before he died and literally blasted me for 30 solid minutes because I'd disagreed with the slant of some recent coverage.
Can't even remember what it was at the time, or why I voiced my disagreement to him. He eventually let me make my case and we parted, not agreeing with one another, but each having had a fair hearing.
He died not to long after that and he is (by me at least) still greatly missed.

The current staff doesn't care about their customer base. Not one bit. In fact, they are extremely hostile.
They've already been forced to lay off over 40% of staff and go down to publishing 3 days a week. They just don't care, as long as they can publish their agenda.
