The City of Austin, and ERCOT itself, lied about massive outages for quite a while in Austin in Feb 2011, when a massive blue norther blew in. Two generating plants in Dallas had forgotten to turn the heaters on in the cooling ponds, which froze, forcing the plants down and blackout that caused widespread burst pipes due to no juice to warm homes.
They’ll lie if they think they can get away with it.
Power out in the winter. Yikes!
What a s***hole.
It’s the Trump Curse. The new Rat Governor just bashed POTUS today.
I hope Bayonne stays safe!!
Lock and load if you’re near one of those sh!thole cities.
Newark, NJ=Mogadishu-on the-Hudson!
NJ is one of the Shi*tholes POTUS Trump was referring to.
Is it purely coincidental that the title of FR Post #3621970 is so closely associated with this one (#3621971)?
If not, Well Played, GuavaCheesePuff
What are you talking about?
When a blue northener comes in the Texans take the
camp fires that freeze and grind them up to make
chili powder...
I once had a cool book called Texas Brags,
lots of great stuff in it.
Newark is on the Passaic River, not the Hudson; Jersey City (a city with some hope for the future) is on the Hudson.
Most FReepers couldn’t afford to live anywhere near the POTUS’s home in Bedminster NJ; maybe our cities are those sh!tholes, but other parts of NJ have serious money.
Fortunately, todays weather is very mild.
We had several without power all around me when it was -14 a couple weeks ago.
Started about 1AM and hundreds were out for over 12 hours.
Mine stayed on, but woodstove was cranking and have a generator if needed.
Ha, ha.
From the article
“Rain and condensation mixed with residual salt on roadways and walkways caused equipment to malfunction, spokeswoman Deann Muzikar said in an email.”
I worked in and on power plants for six years. I have been too dozens of facilities and I have no idea how what this spokesman said can possibly relate to electrical problems, these are normal environmental conditions.
