I think he was killed over the Russian connection, the DNC Russian connection.
And the follow up question is, “Who gave the order?” John Podesta?
The wikileaks emails seem very incriminating of his role, with his “make an example” of possible leakers comment.

I lived in the DC region from Jan 2010 to Jul 2013, and then left. Over that period, being a non-local...I paid attention to crime stories, robberies, shootings, and murders in the area.
In a typical average year, the District averaged about 100 to 115 murders. 3,000 cases of robbery were the rough average for District yearly, along with around 4,000 episodes of aggravated assault.
In Seth’s case, he actually took two shots to the back, which would not be a normal set-up for robbery. Cops do talk about the upsurge in violent crime in this neighborhood and the fact that Seth walked out of a pub at 1:30 AM probably didn’t help matters. Marks on the body indicate a brief fight...maybe Seth disrespected the robber’s intent, and as he turned to leave...gunshots (two) occurred. The problem with the robbery story is that nothing was taken...even the guy’s watch.
If you go and follow the murders in that three-year period like I did...this doesn’t fit the norm. A lot of the murders were gang-related, love-triangle, or drug-related. Most happened on the east part of DC, or in the Anacostia area to the SE of town.

So here is what happened for the 40th time and probably not the last.
Seth Rich was an avid supporter or Bernie Sanders.Who knows why, who cares.
He was hired by the DNC to ferret out those who would hack or come after the DNC. During his many searches of DNC files he discovered the systematic destruction of Bernie Sanders by the DNC in favor of Hillary. His donors were pinched,called and told Sanders could never win to support Hillary,votes were being systematically given to Hillary in tight electoral districts,everything that could possibly be done by the DNC to savage Sanders in favor of Hillary was being done.
Rich was livid.
In retaliation he sent wikileaks tons of intel loaded onto three thumb-drives. He hacked the DNC to get the info and later on a hired gun,Crowdstrike, discovered the hack and traced it back to Rich.
A hit was issued on Rich. THey had to make an example out of him. Podesta found out about the hit made sure that it was authorized by Hillary and Huma and then tasked Alpha Jollah to hire two MS13 types often used by the DNC to take Rich out.They were later killed in SC.
Rich was shot twice on the street late at night with small caliber gun, taken to the Medstar dc hospital where he was stabilized by a fourth year surgical intern team(who memoed the entire thing) and left to finish the work in the morning with Rich expected to fully recover.
DR Sava, a dnc donor, took over Rich’s existence. Hours later,Rich was dead and the body cremated almost immediately.
The coverup of Rich’s murder was incredibly sophisticated and had multiple designs. One was the failed “Trump colludes with Putin” op. Another was designed to cover up not only the Rich murder but Hillarys 145 million in bribes for giving pootie 20% of our uranium.
If it were not for the endless work of George Webb and Jason Goodman much or this information would never had seen the light of day. These guys remain virtual unknowns but are the true researchers in the background of many stories.
