Sessions orders probe on whether Obama gave Hezbollah a pass
The Department of Justice announced Thursday that it is creating a task force to take a fresh look at drug-trafficking and money-laundering operations linked to Hezbollah after an investigative report last month claimed that the Obama administration turned a blind eye to such activities to preserve the Iran nuclear deal.
The task force, dubbed the Hezbollah Financing and Narcoterrorism Team (HFNT), will begin its work by reviewing investigations stemming from Project Cassandra, a campaign led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) targeting the Lebanese terror groups actions.
According to a Politico report published last month, officials with the Obama Justice and Treasury Departments repeatedly delayed or rejected requests by Project Cassandra leaders to pursue significant investigations, prosecutors or sanctions.

"The Justice Department will leave no stone unturned in order to eliminate threats to our citizens from terrorist organizations and to stem the tide of the devastating drug crisis, Sessions said. In an effort to protect Americans from both threats, the Justice Department will assemble leading investigators and prosecutors to ensure that all Project Cassandra investigations as well as other related investigations, whether past or present, are given the needed resources and attention to come to their proper resolution. The team will initiate prosecutions that will restrict the flow of money to foreign terrorist organizations as well as disrupt violent international drug trafficking operations."

Yep. Top men. We’ll have top men working on it.
Hmmmm...Mueller continues however,.
That way a really nice report will be created suitable for filing and forgetting.
We may even get some stern words being said.
To what end? As vanishingly small as a possible prosecution of HRC may be for any one of half a dozen large scale crimes, one of 0bama would be 100x smaller. The Awans were probably furnishing car (wrecks) to act as containers for drug cash that was ultimately shipped to the Ivory Coast. They’re out of the car business, most likely. They thoroughly infiltrated Congressional computer networks for a strong dozen years in what must be one of the top 10 pieces of espionage of all time and got paid magnificently for it, I might add. But that’s all gone now. By the time Sessions gets any sort of investigation going he will probably be dead (if he’s not already) and all the torts will be past the statute of limitations. The operations from all this are all over. So what’s to gain? Put the Awans in prison for 3 years with credit for time confined to his home?
Any one of the things Sessions is charged to deal with is apparently beyond his capability to deal with. How’s he gonna do with half a dozen?
All of this is just noise.
Oh GREAT, sleepy Session will name men of high “competence and integrity” like Rosenstein and Mueller. The team will assemble in 2020, the investigation will start in 2030 and some Obama’s unpaid volunteers will be punished hard in 2040.
Wiki: “Project Cassandra is a effort led by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to undercut Hezbollah funding from illicit drug sources. Launched in 2008, the project was said to be investigating the terrorist organization’s funding. According to the DEA, Hezbollah has become increasingly involved with drug trafficking and organized crime. An investigative report published by Politico in December 2017, described how, during the Obama administration, national security concerns regarding the Iran nuclear deal took precedence over the DEA project.”
So Project Cassandra was launched TEN years ago the year Obama got elected. He conveniently squashed it his entire two terms and it takes “investigative reporting” by Politico finally gets DOJ off their asses and stimulates them to do something. Was their nothing for them to look at during Trump’s first year? Did the Politico piece finally make this so glaringly obvious that DOJ had to do something to avoid looking completely foolish and useless?
Pathetic.
You don’t need a task force, you already have a guy in the justice system that was running the IT work for dozens of democrats and the chairperson of the DNC,Debbie wasserman Schultz,he was involved in this scandal,he is right in front of you idiot! You have not even charged this guy! Task force, what a freakin joke
Sessions can move pretty fast when he wants to.
Undoubtedly, they will need to dig up most of these people and confine their caskets to a suitably Federal Detention Facility.
