I think a perfectly Trumpian deal on immigration could be made and the sh*thole vs. Norway comment is extremely distracting. Border security is inherently moral, we shouldn’t give libs more fodder with the “conservatives are racist” meme. This is the first time I am calling out Trump and I know other MAGA conservatives who agree.
I do not think border security should have to he equated with racism in people’s minds and unfortunately, that is what comments like that does. (And i do not believe Trump is a racist. Sanctimonious liberals often are though and its moments like these that leave them and their hypocrisy off the hook!)

Sure, an inelegant comment that’ll probably go into the hopper of Trump still learning not to trust the slime from Congress.
Only the feeble-minded see racism in our enacting a merit-based immigration system. What he was arguing against was the Congress slime trying to more than replace the anti-merit lottery with another anti-merit system that specifically advantages those who on average come in with very little education, skill, or exposure to or experience adhering to American cultural values.
We need to have that argument. And open borders idiots aren’t worth somehow rethinking the obvious on.
