Apparently though, the President said the comment (allegedly) alongside a comment about immigrants from Norway being inherently better.
Scandinavian immigrants have contributed so much to this country no doubt.
But as for measuring the “performance” of modern day Scandinavia: the region may look like less of a sh*thole, but the secularism, socialism, abortion, euthanasia, eco-climate madness they espouse is just as responsible for Western cultural rot as is unbridled immigration.
Iceland is not Scandinavia...but it and Denmark both have apparently nearly eradicated the birth of Down Syndrome babies via prenatal testing and abortion...that is how “clean” the countries are.
When I was in England, the congregants keeping both Anglican *and* Catholic...basically, EUROPEAN churches alive were all immigrants from former British colonies in Africa and the Carribean. There were a handful times I would meet (white) British people who said they had just about given up on faith and the Church of England until an *African* colleague invited them or until they went to a spirited African Evangelical service.
Its Anglicans and Catholic leaders from such places holding true to doctrines about homosexuality and abortion while Prince Charles and Prince William lecture them about climate change and birth control!
Yeah, Europe has its problems and I wouldn’t take any more immigrants from anywhere for now in large part because so many of them are liberal voters—form livable countries and the unlivable.
But there is no question that importing from the crappiest countries is taking our country down further in crime, financial leeching, etc., than are those from the more developed countries that more closely share our culture and values.
And just knock it off with the hellhole voters will vote against abortion crap. They all come in at the head of the line over white Americans because of affirmative action, on average have very low education and skill sets, and vote for the Marxist Democrats.

Trump was asking why they favored a craphole like Haiti over a nice first world nation like Norway. You see Trump’s wants an immigration system where people are selected on the basis of skills, education, etc instead of national origin. Liberals, of course, want to select the poorest people they can from 3ed worlds crapholes because they’re reliable democrat voters.
