Since HIV/AIDS has become a somewhat manageable disease, at least in the short term, it has actually become a status symbol for the younger “gays.” If a homosexual man refuses to get sexually involved with a man merely because of HIV infection, it is cast almost like “hate” and “discrimination” against the HIV carrier. Seriously. They are a victim group within a victim group. And victim status is highly sought.
