What would be decent? Keep the store open to avoid trauma? Or let employees in knowing the store is closing so they can take back out anything they like? I don’t understand your post.

Simply email/text/call them after the close the night before. That's all. Most closed locations were locked with signs out front. It's also bad P.R. for customers who have to view upset employees outside locked doors.

I agree. I don’t think telling them in this way is any more traumatic than having them work for two weeks on a job they are losing. That might be more Traumatic in the long run.

Losing a job isn’t easy, no matter how you are told.
