good news
LG makes good gear.
put Oprah or Wolff Book in the title and you might get FReepers interested in this thread.
I’ve got a LG refrigerator/freezer and will readily admit that it’s a terrific product. Now on 6th year and not a single issue.
Good to know. Our appliances are aging, and we’ll soon need to replace a few.
I purchased an OLED curved 4k display late 2016. It’s not an appliance, but the quality is nonetheless amazing.
“LG” is everywhere. Their logo keeps them almost invisible!
Yes, despite how the dems may try to spin it.
I’ve had a bad experiences with PacRim high tech appliances. Sure they look great but are terribly expensive to repair.
All it took was an administration willing to grow a spine on trade policy.
Before the manufacturers computerized household appliances they would operate flawlessly for decades and you could repair them yourself. Now they cost much more even adjusted for inflation and only last about 3 years. Not to mention that repairs cost as much as the machine.
Still not sure I would trust Pac Rim appliances over US or German engineered ones.
Had a Maytag (pre-Whirly-tag) dishwasher that had its main circuit board bitten by fake capacitors. Got a Whirly-tag replacement board. Worked a couple weeks, then it bit the dust.
Replaced the dishwasher with a Bosch manufactured in North Carolina. So far, so good. Long-time sales rep at Sears (now gone, apparently retired) told me the Pac Rim appliances tended to go bad — okay when under warranty, but super-pricey and expensive when not.
Pay your money, and make your choice.
“Feb. 28, 2017 LG Electronics Inc. today announced plans to construct a new 829,000-square-foot home appliance manufacturing facility near Clarksville, Tennessee. “
Of course protectionism works. It is what built the USA up in the very beginning.
Thanks! I had to look it up in Google.
The press can’t use who, what, WHERE and when in stories any longer.
Glad to hear this. But if I’m buying a washer or dryer....I’m buying a speed queen. Just saying........
By the way, Speed queens still do last over 10 years. Laundromats use speed queens. Commercial heavy duty and made for home use too.
My family enjoys a LG gas dryer and a LG smart TV. Have had both more than 5 years and are pleased with the quality and price.
I see what you did there ......
Moving into Maytag facility in Newton, Iowa????
