Looks like our military is back to the original mission: kill people and break things

I have a colleague that was part of the first small teams in Afghanistan. Great Guy. He worked with the locals on horseback. One telling thing he mentioned was the FEAR both the people he worked with (locals) and the enemies had of the US Soldiers. Some of them thought the US Soldiers had magic powers. A large part of this was the technology we were using. 12 Special Forces guys with laser targeting and access to missal strikes and air support brought a lot of munitions on enemies. Apparently, the locals were also very intimidated with the size, strength and stamina of the Americans. In one story, my colleague shared, they were targeting caves where Taliban were hiding (locals helped find targets). From a distance, the Americans would aim their box at the cave and the cave would blow up and the earth would shake. This was magic to them.
Point is, our enemies on the battlefield fear us. They can’t help it. Most of these 3rd world turd fighters cannot fathom the type of war America can bring. So the tough talk feeds and plays on that fear. It is as strategic as it sounds bullish. They understand the threat.
I would like to see an announcement that says, “If a terrorist or a group of terrorists enter you Mosque, you should leave. There is a good chance it is about to be blown up. There are no safe places anymore. Rules of engagement are off.”
