“Devastating to American families”. Really? Solve that problem and send the whole family back.
These are citizens of other countries.
Send them home.
Why is ‘hispanic’ relevant to this story? Is MD running an ethnicity quota system or something?
MD ping!
I can only hope so!
“Forcing them to leave will tear apart and devastate American families,”
How? Just take all your family with you!
I despise Cardin.
1) obi Ben- they are not legal immigrants. Otherwise we would not be having this discussion
2) is being El Salvadoran a bad thing from which all Savadorans need pity and rescue?
3) families can all go back together. Voila. No separation.
4) 200,000 returning Savadorans is good seed stock for a middle class down there. Lots of entrepreneurs who speak or understand English, lots of people to make their own el Salvador democrat party
Sounds like a choice is being offered.
Hey ben cardin it was a temporary visa. The operative word being temporary.Time to go home gang.
An earthquake is not a good reason to import 200k people, without vetting, without merit, likely lacking in skills like English and likely only good for popping out anchor babies, consuming welfare and working in the underground economy.
Was TPS given to people already here illegally and/or legally (other temporary visa) when the earthquake struck or were they invited here temporarily following the earthquake?
It provides temporary lawful status and work authorization to people already in the United States, whether they entered legally or not, from countries affected by armed conflict, natural disaster or other strife. The homeland security secretary decides when a country merits the designation and can renew it for six, 12 or 18 months.

Bye, bye to “Casa de Maryland.”
Or because they are illegal aliens?
Or because they have the bad taste to live in Maryland?
While legal, the visa is also conditional and is expired
How much has this bunch cost US taxpayers? Inquiring minds want to know.
"The reasons of the earthquakes were over years and years ago. So, I think it's reasonable, since it was a temporary status, at some point, for that status to be rescinded and people to go back to their home countries once those calamities are over," Harris said.
Bump, kudos, and Hooray!! Rep Harris gets it.!
These people got a great TEMPORARY deal. Temporary means it will end eventually. These folks, by their actions like buying houses, etc., are abusing our generosity. Enough!
what about all the Muslims?!~
going after illegal Mexicans is one thing but Mexicans are mostly not nearly as dangerous as ...
Uhh I’m a hispanic, I don’t know what the hell a Salvadoran is other than a Salvadoran. The media better not appropriate my culture!
Fixed it...
