Theres been a huge development in the ongoing struggle to protect the Dreamers, the beneficiaries whose immigration status is protected under DACA.
U.S. District Judge William Alsup of in San Francisco just issued an injunction blocking the Trump Administration from ending the program as it announced it would do in September.

Exactly. Fight fire with fire.
This is the thing that stands out in Alsup's order, I.E. the recession is invalid because it's also motivated by bigotry. The memorandum from the Trump administration is pretty clear in asserting that current beneficiaries of DACA will receive due process. It also cites a specific EO by Trump ordering the administration to follow the INA. However the California Regents acting as a proxy for state and local governments assert there will be harm to the state of California and local municipalities caused because, essentially, they assumed the "Deferred" in DACA actually meant "Deferred Forever" and thus actions performed under that assumption are jeopardized by ending DACA.
IANAL, It's difficult for me to understand how the plaintiffs have standing in the first place.
Isn’t nice to know that God holds those in power to a higher standard because they have that power and are responsible for those under them? God is just and He is NOT blind.
I think it’s time to paraphrase Andrew Jackson on this one.
[William Alsup] has made his decision; now let him enforce it.
The courts have no jurisdiction over the expiration date of a particular legislation - That is the purview of the legislative branch of our government.
Likewise, the courts lack jurisdiction over any executive order, or executive branch policy (or lack thereof), which ostensibly extends the effects of an expiring law.
Daca recieved a death blow last summer when his daca executive edict was totally blocked.there is zero daca law. This is over.
In San Francisco.
One commie President can make law by executive order, but an Patriotic American President can’t rescind it by executive order.
This is why judges, and who appoints them, is so important.
Why would the judicial branch have standing to rule on an executive branch order?
Could you rephrase that?
You do realize that FR is located in CA? I’ve read this stupid post over the years..
Judge cannot make his own findings.
There are competing position litigating...
Thank GOD we have all these unelected Federal judge-presidents to order our little lives for us.
And now we have a similar court ruling on the 200,000 From El Salvador.
It will be ignored.
Really? When did judge get elected?
If I was Trump, I’d start deporting 10,000 a week
Put a bounty on them $5 a head
This blogsite is viciously anti-Trump
and vacuously.
The Kenyanesian Usurpation will haunt US for decades.
I figured that he was another one of obama’s gay lovers.
Yet another judge issuing a ruling he had absolutely no authority to issue. DACA was a purely executive action that can be reversed by executive action. There is no law mandating it be in place. Indeed, there are laws which specifically do not allow it. However, this judge apparently likes DACA so he just rules it has to stay - and that isn’t a decision a judge has the authority to make.
