Diane Feinstein tried to slip past a proposal for a DACA stand-alone (”clean”) bill and seemingly had Trump agreeing with her No she begged for a clean deal and he encouraged her to keep begging before rejecting it. His rejection of a "clean" DACA (no wall) was unequivocal. But what he was less firm about was ending chain migration in the DACA deal or making that part of "phase 2".
