Maybe he should have called her an f-ing b.
If this crazy business was going on in the early 1940’s the western half of the U.S.A. would be speaking Japanese and the eastern half German.
Patton, Nimitz, Curt Lemay and 2/3 of the USMC would have been discharged in 1939. Hold on, I add 2/3 of the U.S.Navy I served in, maybe more than 2/3.
Do not go to the south!
I use “sweetheart” a lot for young girls whose names I don’t know and women in general when it seems appropriate. I have not yet gotten a nasty look in return, but lots of smiles, winks, grins...
I suspect it’s more because he was truthful about the heritage of her RAT party hating the military.
Is “bitch” ok?
OK I am not saying he was wrong, but I do think he should have been smarter than that. And possibly should not be promoted if he is no smarter than that, in today’s climate of extreme sensitivity to these types of issues.
JMHO
I remember boot camp in 68; anytime our DI called us sweethearts, IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD!
We would just pray for moment he got back to calling us mere MAGGOTS.
Or when the SarMaj told the Colonel “Custer was a pussy, you ain’t”.
None of us would have been discharged, WE WOULD HAVE ALL BEEN THROWN IN THE GODDAMN BRIG.
If you’re going to talk smack about a 4-star Marine, you could at least get his name right.
I agree. It may be true, but it's not a very professional thing to say in a meeting. Like mothers teach, if you can't say something nice . . .
Around 2000 a DCG designate in the 101st was up for his star but could not get confirmed as he had run afoul of a Senator, he ended up just retiring.
well at least he wasn’t truthful in calling her a bitch
“I do think he should have been smarter than that. And possibly should not be promoted if he is no smarter than that, in todays climate of extreme sensitivity to these types of issues.”
I guess political correctness is the only thing that matters today. Not how good you are at your job.
Do you think General Patton should have been fired? Or any of the countless other generals and military men who have said far worse?
Should we only have sensitive little snowflakes defending us in the armed services?
You know who without the ‘correct’ spelling - picky picky. He’s gotta go along with his buddies plus Tillerson, HR McMaster, and Sessions.
Don’t care how many stars - same jerks as when I was in.
‘Mantis’ mattis sets the tone. He’s the one where the buck stops. His problem.
Who do you think is going to be better than General Mattis?
He has to pick his battles and deal with Congressional scum.
Apparently he should if she works for a congressman and he wants to to make three stars. Long and short of it, if you act dismissive and insulting to people then they will get back at you if they can.
Truth hurts, doesn't it?
