This is essentially my view now as well. I did like Bannon—indeed, I trusted his policy instincts and convictions moreso than those of President Trump himself initially—and his "America first" ideas on economic nationalism.
Unfortunately, he has allowed his ego to severely interfere with both his role in the Trump administration—and ultimately in this revolutionary movement in general. There seems to be little doubt that Steve was sloppy in his statements to some people—people who he should have known were servants of the Enemy—and consequently his behavior constituted extreme disloyalty to the very President whose back he was supposed to have.

Shocking how completely different he is than what we thought he was.
It wasn't just Bannon. Kellyanne Conway was brought in simultaneously with Bannon to run the campaign.
Perhaps it was Conway who was the more disciplined force driving the Trump campaign?
Bingo! I think you nailed it. I'm stupid for not having thought of that but I believe you are exactly right. And, notice she's still on the Trump team, because she understood that she is in a support role, and it's not ultimately *all about her*, something Bannon had trouble getting through his thick skull, apparently.
