Sounds like you’re confusing employee withholding taxes with the taxes she pays personally. I think she’s talking about her personal taxes.
Companies aren’t ALLOWED to deduct taxes from employees. They are REQUIRED. If you mean everyone should be on a quarterly basis of paying estimated taxes, yes - then they would feel the pain and that would get everyone’s attention. But this is not what she’s talking about. At least, that’s my opinion for what it’s worth.
I used to sell real estate. You have to pay your own taxes. And it has to be quarterly.
That’s what I was thinking. But most people never see it so it’s more painless.
