For about 12 years after our first child was born, my wife stayed home and dealt with our kids all day..
If they had a good day, she and the kids would meet me at the front door with smiles and happy and loud “Daddy’s home!”
If the kids had been bad, they were not at the door nor in the foyer. My wife’s comment usually was, “You are finally home and you need to talk to your kids!” You could have keep sides of beef in the cold air surrounding my wife.
