That really does suck for those people that already had to go through the whole wildfire thing. Even those folks with homes destroyed by fire, I'm sure many were already looking forward to rebuilt. Some of those hopes will be dashed if they get a mudslide on top of their property.

Yes - it is the natural course of things - but still sad. Although it isn't completely “natural” anymore with California not doing controlled burns now. Awhile back I read where many of the states in the SE do huge amounts of controlled burning. Millions of acres a year to keep their fire risk down. You never read about huge forest fires in Alabama or Mississippi.

I went to one of the twitter links you put up - amazing pictures. I 101 is completely filled with water, muck and debris. There was a short video of a 14-year old girl they rescued from a home. I forget how long she was trapped, but it took the crew 2 hours to get her out. She seemed pretty unaffected by the ordeal. She’s covered in mud from head to toe, and made some quip about her pants!

The state with the most fraudulent votes against trump was California!

Lots of great places and people in Cali that are plagued by losers....

Now that they have legalized recreational drugs, it’s game over! California in about 2 yrs is going to be hell on earth. And please, take all the roving herds of drug addicts from Washington State! Way too cold for these poor bums up here....go to California....

Two Dozen More Still Missing; Hundreds Trapped in Romero Canyon

The death toll of the Tuesday morning Montecito mudslides that sheared homes from their foundations and sent car-sized boulders careening out of creek beds has climbed to 16 with more fatalities expected as rescue and recovery teams continue searching the wreckage. Two dozen people remain missing, with at least 300 more trapped in Romero Canyon, where airlifts are actively underway. Twenty injuries have been reported, four of them critical.
