Have you noticed in department store ads (newspapers, mailers, magazines) there is usually a black person on each page of the ad (or nearly every page)? There are no asians, no latinos, just blacks. Do they honestly believe 50% of their customers are black? Penneys has never recovered from its usage of lesbian/homosexual "families" in its ad(s). These same stores are losing customers slowly and going belly up and cannot for the life of them figure out why. The politification of advertisers upon us has affected their bottom line financially, but like Hollywood, they just don't care.
As the Latino population grows, I think this is going to change. Asians are not “victimy” enough, but Blacks and Latinos are going to end up fighting for top billing.
