If the Bush League Republicans sucker him into an amnesty and then he campaigns for their re-election, he will have become a swamp creature.

Interesting. Considering the populist policies on which Steve Bannon and President Trump supposedly agree, what will happen if the President starts moving away from the populist policies which Bannon—as well as the President's base—supports?

Is this going to end up as some kind of backdoor method for the GOPe to reclaim influence by inducing the President to move away from Bannon in terms of policy as well? It seems like somebody could be setting that up...

No. Since Bannon has left the Trump Administration, there has been no indication Trump is abandoning his principles but he will need the GOP Congress to help him get a lot of the major work done. It will be interesting to see who Trump supports in open GOP primaries though...by “open” I mean those with no incumbents. I presume he will support most, if not all, of incumbents running for reelection.
