Republican Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado on Thursday said he is prepared to retaliate against Attorney General Jeff Sessions' move to rescind 2013 federal guidance that discouraged prosecutors from pursuing cases involving marijuana in states that have legalized the drug.

Dude!
Use Civil Forfeiture laws against the growers.
If any Colorado Freepers want to weigh in: I have a friend out there and he said that there are parts of some towns that have really gone downhill since the law changed. Parts of some towns have stoners along the roads, and crime has increased.
... I mean, since they’re already so eager to use them against ordinary folks.
Totally not true.
Been in CO for almost 10 years.
Was downtown for NY Eve and there were no issues.
Cops and people all behaved.
Gardner must have invested heavily in pot growing and selling in CO.

Good for him. It is the state’s issue. Session is wrong. But in his defense he is called to enforce the law as written. If changes to federal marijuana laws are warranted (which they are) it is the job of the legislature to make those changes. Then Sessions could legitimately leave marijuana laws to the states.
Highly doubtful that there is going to be federal prosecution of state legal pot. All Sessions has done here is remove the Obama era Fed “guidance letter” which is moot and redundant. Prosecutors already have wide discretion with or without the letter. The non-prosecution of “legal pot” will continue unless the weed crosses state lines and/or breaking other state and federal laws.
Colorado Senator Gardner, Cong Coffman, and Gov. Hicklylooper (who was the most reasonable of the three imagine that)are all politically posturing for optics.
I have no clue who this no named jack ass is but I do want to say positively about Jeff Sessions. He wants to restore law and order to these godless lawless dope approving states and I want him to crack down with the full force of the United States law enforcement and military if necessary to drive the dope out of these states forever. It will only take 20- 30 long federal prison terms for dope sellers in violation of Federal law which preempts state law and this dope epidemic is over!! I promise.God Bless a pot free America!!
This is a nothingburger. The Federal attorney in Colorado says there has been and will be no change in what’s he doing. He isn’t being given any new instructions.
The feds have been busting big illegal growers and cartel dealer types all along. That’s all they have time to do and it’s the priority.
Been in Colorado since 1976. Denver metro was OK for a long time but sucked by 2008-ish, 4 years before legalization. I left for the mountains in 2009, best thing I ever did. You’d never know it was legal here but yet it’s available. Nearest store is discreet and 20 miles away.
Unemployment rate is about 3%. Business is good, and opportunities of all types abound. People are feeling optimistic. Even the grousers are just going through the motions.
It’s important to note: Vagrants cannot afford legal marijuana.
There’s a different reason they are there. And it’s certainly not cheap pot.
Retail prices in CA are between $45 and $60 for 1/8 ounce. Pre-rolled joints are $15.
Colt 45 is FAR cheaper.
[Cory Gardner] Top Republican says Senate should expel Moore if he wins
Thanks.
“...he is prepared to retaliate ....”
Throw a fit, have him killed, mail him a package of poop, etc.?
There are reasons that there are more and more vagrants in Denver. The local politicians keep providing them with more and more goods and services. Free food and medical and free housing. The word is all over the USA. Denver is the place for bums to live. The government gives them everything. Oh yeah, the MJ is legal.
