Steve had the honor of working in the White House & serving the country. Unfortunately, he squandered that privilege & turned that opportunity into a nightmare of backstabbing, harassing, leaking, lying & undermining the President. Steve is not a strategist, he is an opportunist 2:14 PM - 3 Jan 2018
Stop trying to convince me that what I saw with my own eyes didn't happen. I'm not going to buy the crap being sold by the media and the Republican establishment, because I personally saw what was happening and when it happened.
I would say you are in denial, but I'm not convinced you really believe the line you keep trying to sell.
Did you miss the Hannity interview?
I've addressed the Hannity interview half a dozen times, and unless i'm mistaken, some of those times have been in a discussion with you. Hannity put Moore in a bad spot, and Moore just didn't expect Hannity to do him that way.
Hannity effectively agreed that dating teenagers made it likely that the molestation occurred, and Moore could not effectively defend himself against the premise that the one thing equaled the other.
He should have been better prepared, but that just didn't happen. It still doesn't make those women's convenient stories true, and it still doesn't compel people on our side to jump in front of the Lynch mob and wave their banner.
but he was a horrible, flawed candidate.
He was a horrible flawed candidate after accusations of child molestation and rape, but before that he was a very good candidate, and one which would have won massively.
And, besides his personal flaws, he also left the freaking state in an extremely close race the weekend before to catch the Army-Navy game
You repeat this as if it holds some significance. After so many months of campaigning, after years of publicity regarding Moore's public defiance of Federal Judges and other members of the Alabama Supreme court, do you really think there was anyone left in the state of Alabama that would have been influenced by Moore doing meets and greets?
Moore was going to knock it out of the park prior to the accusations. After the accusations, He would have eked out a moderate win if Richard Shelby hadn't deliberately stabbed him in the back.
So, stop blaming us for lousy candidate quality control.
And so you go straight to your conclusion without providing any proof that I consider worthy of consideration. You casually dismiss serious damages caused to him by the enemy, and by the traitorous actions of his own party "allies", and you just keep repeating the Media/Establishment line that "He was a bad candidate."
You shouldnt need to drag a Republican over the finish line in Alabama no matter what Shelby or anyone else said.
Without the media amplifying the accusations of those two kook women, (and adding the six other women who merely dated him, but calling them *EIGHT ACCUSERS*) and the Republican party doing everything they can to convince the party membership that the accusations were true, you wouldn't have had to drag him over the finish line.
Trump was widely hated by the establishment before his election and crushed Hillary in Alabama.
Trump wasn't accused of child molestation and rape, and he didn't have his own party repeating the same accusations against him. Had this happened, Trump would have lost the whole thing.
If voters stuck with Trump, wed still have that seat with a reliable vote for his agenda.
No. We. Wouldn't. Luther Strange was in serious trouble with corruption allegations, and rather than hammering him with 40 year old lies about sex, they would have hammered him with six month old truths about corruption. Luther Strange would have been billed as a corrupt immoral man who let the governor get away with his own sex scandal and financial manipulation.
The primary voters of Alabama knew about this, and that's why they backed Moore instead. Have some faith that the people of a state have some idea about what they are doing, especially the primary voters.
Instead, we have another Schumer stooge for 3 years because Bannon and a few others wanted to be seen as the true MAGA movement leaders with Trump as just a figurehead.
Establishment party line there. I have an alternate explanation. Bannon supported Moore because Moore had already shown a willingness to defy the Federal Monster on issues of Social Conservatism. Strange wouldn't have rocked the Boat, but Moore would have done his best to flip it over.
*I* wanted Moore because of his willingness to defy Federal dictators, and I'm sure a lot of other people felt the same way. I don't find it hard to believe that Bannon may have also felt the same way.
I wanted a fighter, and someone who would cause problems in Washington, and Moore was such a man. Strange or Jones would have quickly become another swamp creature.
So basically you are going to keep clinging to this fig leaf of yours.
Fantasywriter indeed!
There’s nothing to flip
Are you drinking?
“Trump wasn’t accused of child molestation and rape”
Yeah, that’s the problem, isn’t it? You don’t think that if he were Trump’d be able to cleanly disavow himself of the charges in the friendliest of interview settings with Sean Hannity of all people?
Luther Strange would have easily won that seat. You can fabricate some flimsy parallel to corruption that might have caused him to lose, but it’s a bunch of baloney. a) There is no moral equivalency to perving on young teenagers as a man in his mid-30’s. b) Richard Shelby has been an outspoken supporter of earmarks and wins elections easily, and he hasn’t voted against Trump yet.
We can go back and forth all day, but Roy Moore and his dead-ender supporters are to blame for this loss. The left has been playing every special election as if it were their super bowl, and his hubris of going into that election thinking that baggage wouldn’t be revealed and exploited by the left/media is beyond belief. It’s beyond belief.
The battlefield is what it is. Trump tried to drag this defective over the finish line, but he can only do so much. At the end of the day, we’re in the business of hiring politicians who can win. We’re hiring people to throw strikes and not give up cloud scraping home runs. In Alabama, the opposition can barely even hold a bat, and Roy Moore gave up a moonshot.
Trump came out strong against Bannon yesterday - looks like we have misjudged Mr. Bannon - bigly.
At 3:29 in the morning? No, dearie, I was sleeping!
Ad hominem attacks are not the product of a rational mind. Ad hominem is what people use when they’ve lost the argument. Sad to see you resort to it.
Idk what time zone you live in, btw, so I have no idea when you left off attempting to argue the issue in favor of making it personal. Nor do I care. The comments are befitting a DUer either way.
Get some sleep, my trollish friend.
Opinion discarded.
Into the trash it goes.
On lying media, and backstabbing”
Most people still do not understand the power of the old media. Who do they think put a Kenyan muslim anti-American in office?
No he would not. There would be proof that he dated teenagers, and Hannity would equate that to molesting a 14 year old.
Luther Strange would have easily won that seat.
You keep repeating that, but the facts argue otherwise. The democrats would have hit him with the corruption hammer, and he would have been on defensive the whole time. Additionally, it appears there really is a "there" there with Luther Strange corruption allegations. Luther looks guilty as hell.
Have you talked to any primary voters from Alabama? Do you even know what's going in the minds of our ground troops in that state?
We can go back and forth all day, but Roy Moore and his dead-ender supporters are to blame for this loss.
And there you go repeating that claim as well. You simply refuse to accept that Richard Shelby (primarily, but not alone) stabbed Roy Moore in the back. You refuse to accept that our side was all too eager to believe and repeat these lurid accusations against Moore. You simply keep going back to the Mitch McConnell party line that Moore was a "bad candidate".
I can only conclude that you don't think for yourself, and you are simply regurgitating crap that you get fed by the various group think sources out there.
At the end of the day, were in the business of hiring politicians who can win.
And you can't seem to remember how many times this tactic of skunking our own candidates has already played out before. Chris McDaniel ring a bell? George Allen ring a bell? Sharon Angle? Christine O'Donnell? Joe Miller?
Do you know what they all had in common? They were all Tea Party, and a threat to the Washington establishment types, who could not wait to undermine their candidacies. Who simply embraced and repeated every claim the media made about them.
Look at the bigger picture and stop listening to crap fed to you by people who have a vested interest in feeding you crap.
Exactly. In 2008, Barack Obama had zero accomplishments to his name that weren't a consequence of his color. He was a nobody who had never done anything as a man, and yet the media built him up to be a genius and a messiah.
I've been saying for a long time, we need to either destroy their propaganda system, or get one of our own. We keep losing political power (elections) because the media attack our candidates mercilessly, and give their own complete immunity.
Those who control the airwaves have great control over elections, and we need to break their control.
It's bound to happen from time to time.
Ok, guy. All 8 women are liars and his backpedalling interview with noted fake news ally Sean Hannity was all part of plot to take him out. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
I could accept that some of the women are liars, and I could even accept that all of them are liars if Roy wasn’t equivocating all over the place in his interview with Sean. But, Roy flunked an easy interview and then asked us to continue believing that ALL the women are liars, and then his supporters acted outraged at us that he lost.
At the end of the day, you’ll defend Roy to the hilt rather than face the consequences of the high-risk guy whom you vouched for, pretending that there’s some moral equivalency between garden variety corruption charges and pedophilia in the eyes of voters. I’ve also yet to hear exactly what Luther did that makes him so corrupt, which means it’s probably too dubious and flimsy to be used effectively against him in a general election. I suspect it was just a contrived reason to steer primary support to Moore.
So, you do you, but don’t be surprised if we don’t take future endorsements of Bannon and Roy Moore supporters with a mountain of salt.
The bottom line on Roy Moore is he was a Flawed candidate even before the Women came out. I think Trump had it right to begin with when he backed Luther Strange.
Right there! Look right there! You are repeating the deliberate lie that there are "8" accusers when in fact there are only 2. Why are you repeating this false claim of "8" accusers? That's what the media has been saying, but those of us who have kept up with it understand that the other six women only claim to have dated Moore, none of them have claimed he molested them or attempted to rape them.
The women who made statements about their dating said Moore was a complete gentleman, but the media took these other 6 women, lumped them all together as "8 accusers" and went forward with that deliberate lie.
Why are you even trying to discuss an issue on which you do not appear to have done even rudimentary due diligence?
Let’s simulate an interview of you questioning me whether I, in my 30’s, ever did what Roy Moore was accused of:
DL: You’re aware of the swirling reports that you as an adult man in your 30’s used to court girls in their teens, prowling malls, et cetera for girls in one case as young as 14. Is there any truth to them?
MW: They are flat out lies with zero truth to them. These women are opportunistic liars out to destroy my reputation as part of a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats and their fake news propaganda arm in order to sabotage my campaign and get a Democrat elected to a seat that he has no business winning.
Moreover, I realize the he-said, she-said nature of this and understand that polygraphs are not foolproof, but given the severity and potential impact of these libelous charges, I would agree to submit to a lie detector test and would challenge all of those women to do the same. And, when I am clear my good name, I will be filing civil suits against all of them for defamation charges and plan to fill my swimming pool with all the money I collect in damages.
I would implore these women to retract these despicable allegations with apologies. If they do, I will forgive them and that’s that. If not, I will see them in court with my polygraph results, and I will squeeze them for every last penny they’ve got.
How’s that for a denial?
Actual Moore answer: uhhhhh, well not exactly...
