Now Baltimore activists want the police back

I remember a time in the not so distant past. The year was 2016, and racial tensions were running high. Freddie Gray was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland. He was arrested and notoriously died while in police custody. Soon afterward, Black Lives Matter and other activists became enraged. They began to protest the police department's presence in their neighborhoods over alleged brutality.

Let's fast-forward a couple of years later to present day. Now we see over 300 murders in the City of Baltimore this past year.

When I saw the number of murders, I was shocked. All of the intellectuals and activists on CNN told me that if there were fewer policemen in their neighborhoods, they would be much safer.

You can imagine my shock when I read that now there are calls for the police presence to pick back up in the black parts of town.

The city officials began working on a plan that took the police out of certain parts of the city. Instead of trusting its police officials to do their jobs, the city stepped in. In 2014, the murders totaled 211. Freddie Gray died in April of 2015, which sparked the riots and the knee-jerk reaction by city officials. The police were pulled back immediately. This caused the murder rate to increase to 315 the same year. But the city officials got what they wanted in less police presence. These types of numbers occur when people who are not trained and have no business making law enforcement decisions call the shots.

Time for President Trump to start tweeting about Baltimore:

Baltimore needs a 3rd TV series to follow on behind “Homicide” and “The Wire”. But it might be to dangerous to film in Baltimore this time.

Our company has a branch office in Maryland near Baltimore. It is moving most of the business to Virginia along with most of the employees. All of the Execs and managers moved out of Maryland to Virginia over the past two years.

Oh heck no. They were just blaming the police again.

“The police is killing us”
“The police is ignoring us getting killed”.

No matter what “There are too many of us getting killed and it is the police fault”.

“They want the cops back, but only if they don’t actually enforce any laws.”

They want them back to be used as a foil. Someone on which to blame the increasing murder. Like the commercial where the “bank guard” is only there to tell the customers “it’s a robbery,” but do nothing to stop it.

By the Paradox of Zeno, letting the murdering class murder each other, the problem solves itself in a few years.

And what about all of the innocents who get killed along the way? I guess they're just "collateral damage"?

Clinton’s re-election campaign bragged about 100,000 new police on patrol. The marxists swing back and forth on crime and punishment.

“By the Paradox of Zeno, letting the murdering class murder each other, the problem solves itself in a few years.”

I keep thinking that that may be the right solution, but then I look at Chicago and wonder if their birth rate is allowing them to keep up with the “attrition” on the streets. Even with abortions, it looks as though the “replacements” are still coming along in sufficient quantities to keep the murder rate expanding year over year.

These cops are no different than the worst sorts of venal moneygrubbers who prostitute themselves for filthy lucre.

So, you do not respect working to earn money? If I take a job because I need money, I'm prostituting? Interesting! I guess it would be even worse if I left a well paying job for a higher paying job, moneygrubber that I am! < /sarc >

Can’t they just get the BLM thugs on the job there ? No need for the police to chance losing lives or jobs over the populace that told them to butt out.

Don’t be an idiot. If you choose to go into the Lion’s Den and get your head chewed off, don’t expect any sympathy from me. The cops who continue to work for corrupt inner city Mayors and Police Chiefs who then get maimed or shot while cruising the hood have made their decision that the money was priority one, not their own personal safety or even their dignity. The heck with them all!
