I know that he recused himself from any investigations into President Trump‘s campaign. However, that does not absolve him from his responsibility of enforcing integrity standards within his own Department.
At this point (and I think you would agree) there are so many conflicts of interest within the Mueller investigation and highly unethical actions within the FBI that, at the very least, he should have stepped in to remove conflicted people who are severely damaging to ongoing investigative processes.
Right now it looks like he is allowing wolves to guard the chicken house and people’s confidence in our once highly respected institutions are being eroded on a daily basis. This is a crisis of confidence in my opinion and it needs to be addressed now.
Sessions wanted the job. Its time that he shows he is up to it and steps up to help his boss start draining the Swamp.

We don’t know that he hasn’t. That’s my point. Trump doesn’t want leaks about what he’s doing. There are a lot of people who believe, that there is a lot going on behind the scenes and tweets. This has to be done right, not a bunch of shooting from the hip and spouting off like Trey Gowdy but getting nothing done.
