Remember how Ted Cruz the “principled conservative” admired Jeff Sessions? Was that misplaced respect for a man who actually was a swamp creature cutting “deals” as bad as all the rest?

Not really. He has been in office for nearly a year now and has had plenty of time AND opportunity to start draining the Swamp. He needs to restore people’s confidence in the Department of Justice Department but so far has done nothing to right a floundering ship.
What is illogical about expecting someone to do their job and maintain the integrity of the office he or she holds?
