The gestapo guns and ammo should have been given to the freedom fighters.

“. . . alleged” government corruption? I think it can be stated as a plain fact that there is corruption in every government, and certainly in current the Iranian government.

Basij - the police wing of the Revolutionary Guards. The Basij are firing back at armed protestors. Their cops are not like our cops. More will die as the protests continue - there is not much volume protesting but there does seem to be some organization. Both volume and deaths could escalate during the coming national strike.

A protester shot and killed a police officer on Monday during the fifth day of demonstrations in Iran, Reuters reported, citing Iranian state television.

I rather doubt this. In protests that get out of control the good guys have a tendency to beat the bad guys to death with fists and clubs and bricks and stones. This is because the with rare exceptions the good guys do not have the guns.

I suspect the bad guys killed one of their own to justify extreme violence in mass against the good guys. It is for "the common good you know!"

Point of conversation and analysis:
Iran supplied sophisticated shaped charges to those combating us in Iraq and Afghanistan. These weapons killed many United States Soldiers. This is in reality an unofficial act of war.

In response I would suggest the same thing, but it should be a massive flood of ammunition for the MP4, the AK-47 and the weapons that fire such ammunition. Millions and Millions into the hands of freedom loving Iranians. This would work.

I lived in Iran in the 60s as a young lad of 13. It was more European than Middle East. Life was pretty damn good. The main political battlefield and social battlefield was not between Muslim and Christian. The battle was between the communists and the imperial throne of the Reza Shah. Religion was of no importance relative to politics in Iran at that time. It was tyrannical leftest communists verses the soft pro western tyranny of the Reza Shah. He was not a bad man.

The result of his overthrow was a tyrannical theocracy that is philosophically quasi Marxist but 100% dictatorial tyranny by force, violence and fear.

Hitler did that too.
