Your analogy is incorrect. Apple machines are still pretty much immune to viruses/spyware in real-world conditions except in test labs. Microsoft products on the other hand, are rife with infections and problems, always have been.

I beg to differ. I support approx. 1000 endpoints and also a host of ipads as well as iphones. Again, Apple’s market share has not been anywhere near Microsoft’s but is gaining ground. If enough people go to Linux, then Cinnamon Mint O/S will be fair game for virus writers. It’s all about the proportionate payload.

Apple is catching up with Microsoft in the virus arena. Just released a zero patch for Apple’s answer to Alexa.
