That would be FDR, LBJ and the Progressive movement. They were not our Forefathers.

Once again, our forefathers were the citizens alive at a time when society was able to tolerate freeloaders to an extent never before possible, and saw the effects of drug addiction. They are the ones who wanted these substances to be illegal.

FYI, marijuana laws predated LBJ. And I do not know of any connection or lack of connection with the progressive (i.e. communist) movement; it seems that communists/progressives/whatever have always been pro-mind altering drug use, so your statement makes no sense.

That’s like saying our forefathers are environmentalists who see the dangers of climate change.

There was no federal prohibition of MJ until FDR, and his favorite New Deal congressman LBJ got the legislation. Progressives were the driving force behind all kinds of prohibitions in the early 1900s.
