You have no proof that there are any outside influences on Iran, especially from the USA. The pattern emerging there is closer to the overthrow of communism in E. Europe than the middle east.
In the case of Syria we essentially declared war on it. Suddenly what had been tolerated under the Assads became intolerable when it was attacking ISIS allies.
What happened in Iran before 2009 with the very needed sabotage of their nuke program including assassination of nuke scientists was not a local operation......
Obama drove that operation “underground” and now Trump is allowing it to come back IMHO.
