The fact that they were conducting training on the inaugural run is suspect. Maybe you want to do the first run with the A team at the controls?

Also, previous training runs had been conducted at night - first run in the daytime is with passengers?

Finally, previous training had been done with 6 or more trainees in the cab. You know they weren't all paying attention to the job at hand so they probably got limited value from those training runs.

The train was 30 minutes late leaving the station for the ‘Inaugural Run’. The train was also behind schedule ‘during’ the run. The new route was supposed to save ‘minutes’. It was failing to show that considering all the MONEY SPENT.

It is my opinion that someone high up in AMTRAK or a politician ordered them to try and make up the time OR ELSE.

That is why you are not being told what happened.
