They do the same thing with fires, car wrecks, rescues, most any call here in the mountains. If extras are available they go to the scene to assist.
Was talking to a deputy last night and asked if he was working tonight. He said, “Yeah, I sign up for it every year, and then later I usually wonder why...”
Hope he can stay safe tonight.
