Anyone can invest in the markets, that is true. However those who look to the past believing that it can somehow predict the future are as close to being guaranteed losers in the long run as is possible.

It is an indisputable fact that the market moves on earnings.

If you accept that, as you must, than anyone who could look at you and predict down the road what earnings will be is doing nothing more than guessing. And you know the saying, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
