Name your top THREE stories for 2017.

Do you mean the top three actual occurrences, reported or not, or the top three decoy/clickbait road-apples excreted by the RATagandists?

As to the former:

1) Trumps incredible success in office enacting his agenda despite seemingly insurmountable opposition from the Fake News, the RATs, the RINOs and the deep state.

2) The obvious but unreported attempted coup against our elected president by the unelected and entrenched corrupt bureaucRATs of the "deep state".

3) The brutal Sowdie Ripout, still largely under reported by the presstitutes.

4) The Las Vegas Massacre, with likely Sowdie involvement, and massive disinformation from the local police and drive-by media.

(OK, that's four, but I could keep going)

"you cannot have identical reproduction of cycles"

Therein lies the issue. Correlation with past events simply does not reliably predict short term future events in dealing with chaotic processes like weather, politics, and stock prices. There are simply too many factors that can significantly alter the outcomes.

Climate does, indeed, have periodic components. Glaciation comes every 100,000 years, or so. The multi-decadal "oscillations" of the Atlantic and Pacific repeat every 60 years, or so, etc. Only fools (i.e. Al Gore) predict the climate a few years out, however.

And because there is no possible way for anyone to look down the road and see how consumers will feel and how much they will spend any kind of an attempt to look at past averages and Cycles is completely 100% bogus. You might as well throw darts at a dartboard.

And this is why we have markets - a difference of opinion

The abc panel all cry-babying now that Trump has exposed their bias and their fake news. They can’t stand the truth ever getting out. Meanwhile, the Iran revolt goes on and totally ignored in the discussion today!! Must be Trumps fault. LOL!!
Then predictably back to Trump colludes with Putin all agreeing its the defining story of this year.
unreal!!

Do you remember those 6 weeks?

Sure do.

I'd just finished moving all of our stuff (plus a third of our kids and their families) to Montana.

Still remember thinking that along with the primary objective of keeping The Homestead in the family, the place would make a h*** of a redoubt if SHTF.

...and having AlGore and all of the Clinton regime holdovers in charge would make that day come sooner rather than later, only question was exactly who/what I'd have to deal with.

...sometimes things do work out. Thanks, Lord.

Yes, I agree, the American revolution happened and we did not kill the Americans who supported the English. But the French revolution devolved into something else.

To me cycles exist - what eventually comes to pass will be documented by historians. 2000 and 2007 stock markets are much more the norm and can be instructional if you are interested in preserving you hard earned capital

While allowing the revolution, indeed, promoting and helping it succeed, would not give an even bigger payoff deal with a more moderate, pro-USA government?

The 1979 Revolution had a coalition of business owners, students, the intelligentsia, the mullahs, and Iranian expats. The mullahs hijacked that revolution. Currently, anything would be better than the mullahs.

IMO there is still a wellspring of goodwill towards America among the Iranian people. It has been suppressed by the theocracy in much the same way that the Shah used his secret police to quell any opposition. Iran has been suffering a brain drain for many years with many young people leaving. The fertility rate in Iran is 1.97, a little below the replacement level of 2.1.

The Mullahs have always vied for political power in Iran. The White Revolution was an attempt by the Shah for reform, but it angered the mullahs and land owners. These elements would eventually lead to his downfall.

We should be doing everything we can, overtly and covertly, to take down the current regime in Iran.

There are no moderate mullahs.

That's because there is no "moderate islam".

of primary consideration, motivation.....

The Mullahs want Mecca

For the time being neither the mullahs nor their Iranian subjects can visit Mecca. That alone is enough for some to revolt against the sanctimonious mullahs

Iranians were allowed this year to join the Haj. That may change again next year.

Too funny! The rats were using cigarettes as an inducement to vote in Broward County and you were providing beer and wings as a counter measure! I remember being very frustrated during the Gore challenge as I was sailing in French Polynesia and could barely find any current news.

Islam is practiced differently depending on the country. Some are more tolerant than others when it comes to Christianity and Judaism and the treatment of women. There is a disturbing trend towards fundamentalism in these so-called moderate countries. Turkey is a prime example.

cannot stand watching Fox at all. Other than Tucker and Hannity after the 45 min monologue, there is really nothing but drivel.

The Shah wa basically incompetent. He didn’t have the “stones” to be a Mideast strongman when “troubled times” required it and didn’t have the ability to finesse it. So instead of being feared or admired he ended up being held in contempt. If you read anything definitive about him and his family they remind you of the last Romanovs. Remember he was educated in Europe (Switzerland I think!), many of his family spoke better French then Farsi. Now his grandfather the founder of the dynasty (Note they were upstart nobodies!) was a tough old cavalry commander. He was trained by Russian Imperial Cossack cavalry officers. He would have known how to handle Khomeini!

They all read from the same book (if they can even read their own language) These infidels are likely to be killed by real mozlums.

There is a disturbing trend towards fundamentalism in these so-called moderate countries. Turkey is a prime example.

The aformentioned "real mozlums".

Most of the real World religions have been reformed at some point. Judaism at least twice.
