Gandhi understood that the British (at the time) had a moral compass. Similar tactics used against Hitler, Stalin, or Mao would have had a very different result.

Ghandi and MLK in, say, Nazi Germany or Stalin’s Soviet Union would have been killed and there’d be no mention of it in the press.
The Eastern press created MLK. Without the coverage, he wouldn’t have existed as a political player.

This is what so many leftists cannot understand or don't want to acknowledge. The MLK/Ghandi model does not work in a totalitarian, inhumane country.
