In every election since the last amnesty up until Trump broke through the Bush blockade at the RNC, the Bush League had prevented US from electing anyone who would side with US and the rule of law.
Every GOP nominee for President was an amnesty/open borders advocate.
It was not accidental, it was intentional.

The Bushes have been a blight upon the Republican party. I just hope that Jorge P. Bush doesn't slither his way into the Texas Governorship and (worse yet) a run for the White House.

Even with the Bushes out of the picture, however, there are many GOP establishmentarians who share their mindset, they just aren't as loud about it. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell's views on amnesty probably aren't all that different from Jeb's. We even have a few people on this forum who repeat the propaganda line about Mexican illegals "doing the work Americans won't do."
