You are correct. If she keeps speaking up, I expect she will get a call or visit to explain that life is going to get difficult for her and her teaching job might develop some complications.
This woman attorney, Georgetown undergrad and Harvard Law is a 60’s era human rights activist, and a photographer of some repute in regards to Guatemala’s regime of that time. In addition she is a photographer of some repute, esp. as regards the torture and murder of Mayan indians— ie. government terror.. the “disappeared”. Seems she’s pretty tough, lib or not— da sheela would have to do a lot to surpass Guatemala’s govt. thugs
Here is a quote from the Amazon book page for her (and she has a review on her book, glowing from the then present day playwright Arthur Miller): “Jean-Marie Simon is consultant to Americas Watch and Amnesty International. Her photographs have appeared in Time, Geo, and many other publications.” So it was natural for her to get a picture of the big mama— she’s taken photos in much more dangerous conditions, and she may have many more influential friends. All da sheela did is show her rather wide load a$$ for what she really is- another machine democrat black bigot politician.
