A dashcam video of downtown Los Angeles on Christmas day reveals a stunning sight. Hundreds of tents and lean-to's on the sidewalks that serve as shelter for the homeless.
The scene is reminiscent of a third world country.

Cities are rapidly becoming the domain of the very rich and the very poor. Even those people working at decent jobs can't afford to live in the city they are employed. Rent control, stupid zoning policies, corruption, and fierce opposition to building any kind of housing has driven the working and middle classes out of urban areas. Along with them has gone the tax base that supports city services. So they keep raising taxes on businesses and the upper middle class, eventually driving them out of town too. It is the "blue model" of Democratic governance and there has rarely been better evidence of its failure.
Rather than create conditions where affordable housing and good jobs can exist, they sweep the homeless problem under the rug, hiding the true extent of the effect of their rancid policies
The video is an eye opener.

To me, this speaks volumes about two factors:
1. Don’t elect liberal governors. I suspect many of these homeless have come over the border.
2. How can this be allowed to continue when all of the loving, caring lefties with tons of $$$ live in that area? Why aren’t those tolerant and compassionate Hollywood liberals providing accommodation for their fellow man?
FYI - we DO live in a 3rd world country.

Nationwide, Homelessness Plunged Under Obama

KRISTON CAPPS NOV 18, 2016
Since 2010, the nation has seen double-digit drops in homeless families (23 percent), individuals experiencing chronic homelessness (27 percent), and veteran homelessness (47 percent). While some states, such as New York, saw increases in homelessness over this time periodespecially over the last yearnationwide, the number of people experiencing homelessness on a single night in 2016 fell 14 percent since 2010.
[snip]
But the Trump administration, and the Republican Party that now controls Congress and most state governments, may also take action that will drive thousands of families into despair. Taking away housing aid from desperate families that need it would quickly put a near-term goal of ending homelessness firmly out of reach.
Venezuela, right there in Los Angeles.
“There’s a Republican President so, of course, homelessness is an issue again”
Bingo- the Fake news pulled out their tired B.S. story-
BTW— an even better picture is looking at the videos
of the streets in Detroit!- scary
I have driven through this neighborhood a few times recently, thousands of homeless americans, yet here I sit in my hangar at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima, surrounded by 200,000 ILLEGAL ALIENS in Subsidized Section 8 housing.
According to my observation on the bums (I won’t call them homeless because it is an insult to people that are legitimately displaced by unfortunate circumstances) their population exploded under the B.O. regime. It’s a phony excuse to show that your are compassionate and spend money, hire bureaucrats, create new entitlements. And then Trump comes along and Shazam the script changes,he’s responsible for everything. Happens every time when a Repubican is elected.
Sanctuary City = Shantytown USA. When the crime rises in posh suburbs, and entertainment industry nitwits get carjacked and mugged by the hundreds, watch the limo lib ruling class blame LAPD. Thanks pgkdan.
Bums have been sacked out all over LA for years now. soetoro didn’t change things one bit. He never gave a fork. The plague just continues.
John & Ken on KFI were talking about this last week. In addition to all of the usual reasons for the homeless increases in SoCal, there is another phenomenon happening.
It seems that SoCal, in particular, Costa Mesa has a lot of rehab centers. People from all over the country are coming here to go into rehab, but of course are never rehab’ed. When they get out, they once again are homeless druggies.
The rehab business is a real racket. In a lot of cases, insurance pays for months of rehab at a treatment facility. But there is no accountability as to whether any of the patients are actually “cured”. When their treatment is finished they are just turned out onto the street.
That's true. Before 2008 I only rarely saw panhandlers in Virginia Beach. Since then they are at every major intersection and at every convenience store. All the time.
Yes, back when Obama was president they all sang carols like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and Dear Leader heard them and waved his wand and they all had penthouses.
Trump took the penthouses away and gave them to rich people to use for their pets, so now they are pethouses.
My thought as well. Republican president = Homeless Headlines.
Expect to hear about “McJobs” again as well - that was another word that disappeared when the Kenyan Sultan was enthroned.
