Trump should crack down on UNRWA, finally end fiction of Palestinian ‘refugees’
NY Post ^ | Dec 27, 2017 | Richard Goldberg

As the UN General Assembly voted to reject America’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, US Ambassador Nikki Haley issued a stern warning: We’ll remember this the next time you come calling for more hard-earned American taxpayer dollars. Most nation-states called her bluff, leaving many to wonder what comes next.

If President Trump wants to use his financial leverage at the United Nations to strike at the heart of the anti-America, anti-Israel institutional infrastructure, he should look no further than the agency responsible for Palestinian refugees: the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

By most definitions, refugees are those forced to flee their country because of persecution, war or violence. Nearly every refugee in the world is cared for by the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees, whose ultimate goal is repatriation, resettlement and integration. The exception? Palestinian refugees.

Arab states insisted on a different definition for Palestinian-Arab refugees of the Israeli War of Independence — and a different agency to care for them. Today, millions of people are referred to as “Palestinian refugees” even though the only home they, and in many cases even their parents and grandparents, have ever known is either a refugee camp or an Arab host nation like Jordan.

Trump should threaten to remove 100% of US contributions to the UN until they move their headquarters from NYC to Jerusalem. See how much they care about Palestinian refugees after that.

Are you kidding?? Putting the UN in Jerusalem is a crazy idea.

It will never happen, but if it did that would be a nightmare.

In 1967, Israel fought a war against Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon. But not “Palestine.” Because there never was any such entity, nor are there any “Palestinians.”

The UN is a fiasco. The building in NYC needs to be taken over by the US government, along with all its additional offices around New York City. The organization needs to become a footnote in history - a failed hate-mongering organization. Why would you want to keep it alive in the face of its complete and utter failure.? It does harm, not good.

You know that. I know that. Have you seen any politician, even Donald Trump, actually try to disband it? Trolling them with threats about moving it to Jerusalem would at least play with their heads.

The only thing the UN has going for it is that it’s an excellent example of mid 20th century architecture. The Soviets and nazis built some architectural gems, so big bleeping deal. Throw the bums out and sell the UN campus to Trump’s kids for $1. Let them negotiate with the Mohawks to convert it into a resort and casino.

UNWRA should be folded into the High Commissioner for Refugees and be funded through the UN, not separate contributions. The UN needs to recognize their decades long campaign to destroy Israel has failed.

Get real. The UN should be moved to Venezuela as an educational lesson.

That building always had leak problems. Tear it down and build a veteran’s hospital and retirement community for disabled vets.

Because it would bring 130+ nations that hate Israel into Jerusalem all the time, with constant claims of diplomatic immunity, numerous different private and govt security forces, a great deal more MSM in Jerusalem, etc. It would stir things up much more against Israel and create security nightmares, especially as 57 Muslim majority countries work to undermine Israel via the UN.
