The issue of the Iranian Quds forces assault on the KRG has not been handled well, by the US or by the KRG.
When Obama pulled US forces out of Iraq it was a disaster for all. Iran has control of the government in Baghdad and Baghdad is not responsive to US influence.
Should not be this way, but it is.
If you look at a map of what is who controls the territory (not in this article), it is clear what the intent of Iran is. Iranian path through Iraq/Syria to Lebanon.
Only force will stop this.

It was southern kurds who went too far. They shouldn’t have taken any action to seek independence.
