Eric Garner’s oldest daughter has shown no signs of recovery — still unable to breathe on her own after suffering a heart attack, her family said on Monday.

Erica Garner, 27, had a heart attack on Saturday night. She was on life-support in the intensive care unit of a Brooklyn hospital late Monday.

“The Garner/Snipes family wants to thank you all for your prayers and support,” the family said in a statement. “At this moment there are no updates on Erica’s condition. They ask that you take this holiday to enjoy your loved ones and for self care. More updates will come as they are available.”

Erica Garner’s mother Esaw Snipes added in a text to the Daily News, “Please keep her and (her) children in your prayers.”

Death of Eric Garner

In October 2014, Garner's family announced their intention to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the City of New York, the police department, and several police officers, seeking $75 million in damages.[129] The parties announced a $5.9-million out-of-court settlement on July 13, 2015.[130][131] Garner's widow earlier rejected a $5-million settlement offer.[132] On December 3, 2014, after the grand jury decided not to indict Pantaleo, the United States Department of Justice announced it would conduct an independent investigation.[3][133][134] In January 2015 it was reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation's New York Field Office was reviewing the incident and events thereafter.[135] The investigation was overseen by local United States Attorney Loretta Lynch until she became the United States Attorney General[136] The local FBI investigators and federal prosecutors determined that charges should not be brought in the case, prompting strong disagreement from attorneys in the Washington, D.C. office of the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.[136] In October 2016, Attorney General Lynch removed the local FBI agents and federal prosecutors from the case, replacing them with agents from outside New York.[136] Lynch's intervention has been called "highly unusual".[136]

Heart attack can be accompanied by a stroke, which could account for the need for life support.

The thing is he couldn't breathe, period. He had severe asthma, not to mention a heart condition, diabetes, being severely overweight. His own family said he couldn't walk half a block without being out of breath, and now that his 27 year old daughter has had a heart attack, it seems he also had a genetic predisposition for heart troubles. Yet the city of New York was forced to make Garners family millionaires because he broke the law and the cops made the foolish mistake of not asking Garner for his medical records before they arrested him *Gasp*! Those Nazis!

The race card works well doesn't it when it comes to cities run by Democraps. Same with the Central park 5 attempted murderers and rapists. Multiple times they admitted to it, even with their parents present. I talked to the lead detective in that case, he said as soon as they were arrested they started blaming each other for it. Yet because the left and professional d-bag filmmaker Ken Burns decided they were innocent solely because of their race, they were released and given a $41 million settlement and that apparently wasn't enough because they sued for an additional $50 million.

"Beating and raping white ladies pays LARGE boyyeeeee!"

Prayers sent. Not sure of her position on every issue in life, but hers has been much too short, to check out so soon. Thanks for posting, and Merry Christmas.

It’s sad about her situation. And I thought what happened to her dad was sad, too.

No, her father did not die over a couple of bucks of tax revenue.

Her father died because he repeatedly violently resisted a lawful arrest after he was warned four times that he would be arrested if he did not stop selling un-taxed cigarettes in front of a store that was selling them legally, thereby depriving that store owner of customers coming into his store and buying other items too.

Wtf happened to free republic ? I see a lot of fired-from-the-hip snarkiness, pettiness and overall bs’ery that I would expect from lesser people.

Good post. We are better than that.

Her father died because 5 grown men dog-piled on top of him and wouldn’t stop crushing the life and breath out of him even after he told them that he couldn’t breathe.

All the while a female police sergeant stood by and allowed it to happen.

5 grown men dog pie on one man, suffocating him to death—he manages to get a few “I can’t breathe”’s out before they kill him by not getting off of him.

The abject stupidity of the “if he couldn’t breathe how could he tell them that he couldn’t breathe” boggles the mind. Would you like to subject yourself to the test of being piled on by 5 grown men, we’ll see how fast you say that you can’t breathe.

Where’s the indictments? This was thoroughly investigated by the local prosecuter and Obama’s Justice Department.
