Eric Garner’s oldest daughter has shown no signs of recovery — still unable to breathe on her own after suffering a heart attack, her family said on Monday.
Erica Garner, 27, had a heart attack on Saturday night. She was on life-support in the intensive care unit of a Brooklyn hospital late Monday.
“The Garner/Snipes family wants to thank you all for your prayers and support,” the family said in a statement. “At this moment there are no updates on Erica’s condition. They ask that you take this holiday to enjoy your loved ones and for self care. More updates will come as they are available.”
Erica Garner’s mother Esaw Snipes added in a text to the Daily News, “Please keep her and (her) children in your prayers.”

I don’t know the particulars of the father’s death but I don’t think the father had any weapons and told the cop he couldn’t breathe. I’m not passing judgement on the cop but from a grieving daughter’s point of view I can understand her outrage.
Her father died because of his poor health and he resisted arrest by almost pushing the arresting officer through a plate glass window.

He didn’t deserve to die for, at most, a couple of bucks in tax money.
You speak my sentiments as well. I’ll go one further... I did give a rat’s a@@ the political leanings or alligences of one that is in grave condition and soon to pass. The snarkiness as you point out shows the utter contempt and misery with some in their own lives. There is time for political differences then there is time for grace. As I told someone on here before , Karma is a real B!

Her family has requested that people pray for her and for her kids. That is newsworthy enough for me, especially on Christmas day.

Yeah, the comments can get rough on here... it’s the way people talk... or so it seems.. didn’t used to be that bold with insults.. “used to” means 40 years ago. I love this place (FR) but the snarkiness is used. Individuals get into the habit of obama talk... computer talk... behind the monitor talk... and say anything... not an individual but a computer talking.

No, you did it right. Sorry, I wasn’t criticizing you or any of his family’s statements but the newsworthiness of this story being written in the first place. I can see why Eric Garner’s story made the news. I just don’t understand why some unfortunate medical news surrounding any of his children did.
I pray for a miracle that she will get through this okay, in spite of everything.

27, very overweight, asthma inhaler - which they tend to overuse, esp with large bodies - these things could lead to a heart attack. We are not talking physically fit here.

She found out she had an enlarged heart while carrying her second child. She gave birth and had a first heart attack shortly afterward. I am keeping her in my prayers.
