The government NEVER shuts down, budget shut-down or not. Never.
Essential and even many non-essential parts of the federal government just keep humming along like nothing's happened.
And I think the public pretty much knows this by now too. This whole government shut-down thing has been in the news regularly for years.
So this is just all kabuki theater. One side threatens. The other side threatens. One side finally blinks and we're back in business.
Eventually the government will start to dance again because that's the machine that creates the power and wealth for these politicians to suck off of.
This time, the Republicans have a good chance to lay any shutdown on the laps of the democRATS, but I'm afraid they'll screw that one up too and get blamed themselves. Just like always.
The GOP is not good at the RATS' game.
I don’t know anybody who cares much one way or the other. If it does “shut down” I hope it is for a long while so unneeded personnel can be identified. It is all kabuki theater unless the shut down actually results in some totally non essential personnel being identified and let go. I would love to see that.
That whole only essential government employees report to work thing always gets to me. If a government employess is not essential then why the heck are we paying them in the first place?
