A topless activist tried to snatch the baby Jesus from the Nativity scene in St. Peters Square in Rome on Monday.
The Christmas shenanigan unfolded as the activist, with the radical womens group Femen, jumped over the railing around the scene and lunged for the statue of Jesus before she was foiled by a Vatican gendarme.
The woman screamed, God is woman! and had the same slogan painted on her back.
The drama took place a mere two hours before Pope Francis delivered his Christmas tidings to some 50,000 people in the square.
The woman was identified on Femens Web site as Alisa Vinogradova

Damn childish commie perverts. Every time they decide to throw a tantrum, the first thing they do is take off their clothes. That’s really retarded.
I’m shocked.
The Vatican has a traditional nativity?
After a little bit of internet research, I can tell you that Alisa Vinogradova is well into the upper right hand corner of the hot/crazy chart.
You’d think the Vatican could do a better Nativity scene than the Estancia Valley Lion’s Club.
That would be a fun collar, lol.
As a straight heterosexual male I have always deeply appreciated these topless protests, it would be even better if totally sans clothing, particularly when they are young and lithe. However, I have always been confused about the nudity and its value in the protest. I value it highly but has nothing to do with the protest.
I guess I am just a troglodyte.
Topless, who cares, I’m more concerned that she’s brainless. These idiots should be complaining about muslims knifing innocent people in Europe. If she attacked a muslim shrine, how long would she live? It’s islam she should be protesting; they don’t want women exposing themselves except maybe the eyes.
You can go to the Ukraine and make a purchase!
Crazy hot!
Go away, baby Jesus has been fed.
That is the creepiest nativity I have ever seen.
Got to St Peter’s square today about 15 minutes after this stunt was pulled. Here is my reply to ebbtide on my opinion of this year’s Nativity scene:
Yes we saw it and it is both underwhelming and condescending. The celebration of our Lord and Saviors birth should be a time of Joy to the world not an opportunity for the social justice crowd to use Christmas for a cheap, in your face statement about the sufferings of a certain portion of mankind. Interesting enough, there were Swiss Guards just a few hundred feet from the display guarding an entrance to a private Vatican residence. Whats up with that? Why not let everyone in to do anything they want, huh?
I say this as Mrs. Shark24 just finished working long hours prior to arriving here managing two large parish Christmas projects at a homeless facility and also a family shelter where food and gifts for the guests (including toys for the children) where given out. It is what we do as Christians.
Since I was meeting my wife here from Abu Dhabi where Ive been working for the last two months doing aerospace stuff out of a military base there (including flying flight test and training for our friends there), I am not letting anything harsh my Xmas buzz right now. Just hearing the beautiful church bells here during the day as opposed to the call to prayer from the other guys in the other place is enough to remind me of the wonderful graces we still receive from our Catholic Faith and they are more than ever, worth defending. God bless!
At least the Nativity in the Basilica was traditional and beautiful. Cheers.
See my reply above after seeing it in person.
Good strategy. Male witnesses will not be able to give a description of facial features.
Who knew there were time travelers there from the 1800s? Guess that was in part of the gospels the Catholic Church had banned from the Bible.
