We don’t have a lot of things that we could easily have.

Sure, it easy to afford things when you are spending someone else’s money.

A responsible leader that jealously protects the public purse would suggest to Mr. Large that to pay for his improvements to the rail system that spending elsewhere in the public sector must be curtailed.

So, where Mr. Large would you suggest that we cut spending to pay for your easily had things?

Can’t think of a thing huh?

I thought not.

Another freeper on another thread that lives near the accident said they spent $80 million for these upgraded tracks, etc. (I think I might have read $180 million somewhere else.)

He also said the designed savings in time was 4 minutes from Seattle to Portland. But earlier dry runs were taking LONGER than the usual route and train - perhaps the reason they were speeding on the publized run.

And all for 77 passengers!

So yes - let’s give MORE money to the government as they are such wise benefactors of our money.

BTW - the government, BECAUSE of the tax cuts, will no doubt bring in more REVENUE just as the tax cuts of Reagan and Bush did.
