Nearly 9 million people signed up for coverage through the federal ObamaCare exchanges, according to a top administration official.
Last year, 9.2 million people signed up for coverage during an open enrollment period that was twice as long.
Approximately 8.8 million people enrolled during the six week open enrollment period, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid administrator Seema Verma tweeted Thursday.

Don’t blame your company. Obamacare has made health insurance unaffordable. It’s happening to everyone.
Excellent point.
How many are getting their insurance for free. And does the number include the Medicaid expansion or is that separate?
Obamacare may be dead, but unfortunately, all the bureaucratic regulations that came with it, that are not directly involved in the taxation issue, are now insinuated into our healthcare system. And good luck getting rid of them. I highly doubt that we’re all going to be removed from the government healthcare mainframe, that every single person who had obamacare, Medicare, or Medicaid is now on. (Notices were posted in every healthcare setting, but certainly NOT pointed out). Only doctors and pharmacies who did not or do not accept those three forms of payment were exempt. Every pharmacy and health care provider accepting those insurances had to redo their entire computer system or be in trouble and not get paid.
NOTE WELL THE MANDATE AND ASSOCIATED PENALTY DOES NOT GO AWAY UNTIL 2019!!!
My first thought.
I’m pretty sure that any insurance has to be obamacare compliant. I was looking into the faith-based things. That would be okay if it was just me and my wife, but with three kids, I don’t want to risk it. For example, have too much to drink and get in a wreck - no coverage. So far my kids have been really good about that (only one of them drinks and uses uber when out), but....
In Washington State there is just one company that offers actual insurance. Two or three others offer HMO plans - and of course they didn’t include any of our current doctors.
The problem is that many states now offer no private insurance. Arizona doesnt have any private insurers. Its either employer linked or Obamacare. I had many friends who retired early and were buying their own health insurance policies, which were affordable before Obamacare. Now no private insurance available. Most of us are on Medicare now anyway.....but how many, like me, frequently encounter not covered by Medicare when they need a test/MRI, etc? Yes, there is a Part B, which is taken out of your SS monthly payment....but you have to carry supplemental Part B insurance, to cover what Government Part B doesnt cover, which you also pay for. My out of pocket insurance, on Medicare, is still over $300/month.....basically my insurance monthly when I was working that covered both my husband and me, thorough my employer. Obamacare really screwed up the health insurance in this country....but I suspect that that was supposed to happen. Thanks, Obama! /S
Well that is true. at least you dont have to buy that crap. I see Trump really finding an answer and innovation that will accentuate free market for most and a VA like plan for a safety net. WE will see. My supplement just went up 400. Im not happy with that but it beats Obamacare.
Nearly 9 million out of 318 million? What’s that ratio? 9/318? 9/318 = 0.028 = 2.8%. Nearly 3% of citizens are covered.
I thought one of the mental midget type Pols had said if BOScare was rescinded 100 million people would die.
(I will give them credit for being correct in 100 million dying BUT since that is the ultimate goal of all, I would want them to be a tad more definitive)

Exactly.
“You must sign up for zero care under penalty of law.”
Surprise! 9 million people signed up for zerocare.
“Which means we HAVE to CONTINUE zerocare at any cost!!!!!!!” (hair on fire-arms in the air-screaming)
smh
Your company didn’t have much choice. The law is pretty strict on what they can/cannot do.
