You assume incorrectly that I am a full advocate of alternative medicine. It has its flaws, but so does mainstream medicine. I am somewhat agnostic with respect to either side. However, the medical profession is no more a sacred priesthood than the legal profession, or for that matter, the Christian clergy.

The process by which NutraSweet was approved is typical of government and industry collusion. Despite strong evidence of the product’s detrimental effects, the FDA approved its use, largely due to the influence of lobbyists, notably Donald Rumsfeld, who later served as Defense Secretary under the younger Bush. On the approval of Celebrex, Vioxx, and Bextra, 10 of the 32 members of the FDA panel had served as consultants for the manufacturers of the drugs. Corruption in the courts creates unjust and excessive fines and imprisonment. Corruption in the medical system can lead to loss of life and lowered. quality of life.

Any human institution is capable of corruption and quite frequently degenerates into corruption. Our Federal government has zero resemblance to what the Framers of the Constitution intended, not even the most statist of them, like Alexander Hamilton. America needs radical decentralization. As church and state are separated, so should medicine and state.

That’s fine, but alternative medicine is not medicine, it’s something else with a different name that tries to connect itself with medicine by using the alternative descriptor.

The question is, who established all these rules, regs, and the shredding of the Constituion, it sure as hell was the lawyers. No other profession is but marginally responsible.
