Our tax guy sent email today saying if our property taxes not impounded, consider paying 2017-2018 property taxes by Dec 31st. Assume due the $10k SALT cap deduction. We live in CA. Anyone else getting this type of advice or just doomsday scenario?

Tell your CPA nice try, but the GOPe made pre-paying your taxes illegal in the Tax Increase and Deduction Elimination Act.

"Thinking about prepaying some of your 2018 taxes in advance of limitations imposed by the Republican tax plan? Well, forget about it. The final version of the tax legislation includes a provision that would disallow a deduction in 2017 for any prepayment of 2018 state and local income taxes (otherwise known as SALT)."
