"The argument won’t wash. Insurance is CERTAIN. The results of an investigation are iffy at best. Iffy at best DOESN’T equal insurance."

Football Coach: Navy can't pass the ball. They can't drive 80 yards in two minutes to win the game. But I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to run nickel and dime defenses as an insurance policy to make sure they can't complete a deep ball.

Neanderthal: Insurance policy? Insurance policy? Insurance is CERTAIN. Are you saying there's no way Navy can score against a nickel defense?

It’s not iffy when the result is predetermined. It is entirely inappropriate for the FBI to “investigate” one side as “insurance” in case they win. That is not a valid prosecutorial mindset. Imagine how any conservative agent would be treated in this FBI?
